Top 10 Rotations – 2021

Yesterday we unveiled the best bullpens. Today, we’re moving on to the top rotations in the game.

10.) Cincinnati Reds
This was a toss up between the Reds and Brewers, two rotations with some track record but still a lot of potential.

9.) New York Yankees
Gerrit Cole can’t be the only one driving the Yankees so they’ll need some young guys (Garcia, German) to step up and some vets (Kluber, Taillon) to stay healthy.

8.) Tampa Bay Rays
Despite the ill-advised Blake Snell move in the World Series, Tampa Bay typically gets the most out of their pitchers. Glasnow and Yarbrough are good and Luis Patino is on the way. They can mix and match in the rest of the spots.

7.) Atlanta Braves
Atlanta’s young core can vault them into a top 3 rotation. I’ll wait to see that happen before anointing them the best in the NL East.

6.) New York Mets
The Mets are surprisingly deep if everyone performs. Taijuan Walker is a really good #4.

5.) Washington Nationals
This is more of a reputation pick than anything. Scherzer, Strasburg, Corbin and Lester sounds awfully daunting but they are all aging. The question just becomes, how fast?

4.) Chicago White Sox
Lucas Giolito has developed into a “one” and being followed by Lynn and Keuchel gives them a very good top of the rotation.

3.) Cleveland Indians
Cleveland just somehow keeps churning out starting pitchers and being led by Shane Bieber puts them in the top 3.

2.) San Diego Padres
With their 2020 opening day starter now expected to be in the fifth spot, San Diego’s rotation looks strong heading into this season despite Mike Clevinger being on the shelf.

1.) Los Angeles Dodgers
Like the bullpen list, the Dodgers take the top spot here. With arms like Dustin May, Julio Urias and Tony Gonsolin battling just to get a spot in the rotation (not to mention the highest paid player in the game being their third-best starter), it’s easy to see why they lead the way.
