Quarter-Season Power Rankings

We’re sitting just beyond the quarter pole of the regular season, so let’s take a look at the rankings.

7.) Atlanta Braves
8.) Chicago Cubs
9.) Cleveland Indians
10.) Los Angeles Angels
11.) Milwaukee Brewers
12.) St. Louis Cardinals
13.) Seattle Mariners
14.) Pittsburgh Pirates
15.) Colorado Rockies
16.) Los Angeles Dodgers
17.) New York Mets
18.) San Francisco Giants
19.) Minnesota Twins
20.) Toronto Blue Jays
21.) Oakland Athletics
22.) Tampa Bay Rays
23.) Detroit Tigers
24.) Texas Rangers
25.) Kansas City Royals

At this point, the top 20 teams appear to have at least an outside shot at making the playoffs. By the time of our next rankings, that number may work its way down to 16-17 playoff hopefuls which will hinge largely on the staying power of teams like the Phillies, Braves, Pirates, Angels and Mariners and whether or not the Dodgers, Mets, Giants and Twins can piece together a hot stretch.
